Twin Lotus villa Lanta is an expansion phase of Twin Lotus Resort&Spa located on Lanta Island, Krabi, Thailand. The site was surrounded by beachfront and mountains. This project consists of 18 private pool villas with 2 different types. One type of villa gains a greenery view from coconut courtyard and another type was placed facing each other with flipping layout to preserve privacy for each villa. Swimming pool and restaurant are also provided as a common area to serve the residents.

The big gable roof with long eave was inspired by southern Thai traditional house. Triangle shape was simplified from gable to villa’s façade pattern, which was constructed with white concrete ventilation blocks arranging in gradient pattern. Ventilation block façade creates unique light and shade and also provides privacy for each neighborhood. The long eaves overhanging over fence was designed to emphasize the main entrance of villa. For interior space, living area and master bedroom are high ceiling with gable space. Large windows also allow the residents to obtain sunlight and natural ventilation from their own private garden nevertheless still maintain a privacy from ventilation concrete block.

As for the public space, the roof was intentionally twisted to the direction of eastern mountain to reveal the magnificent view of the site. Portal frame structure was designed for clearly interior space and to be an architectural facade.
