Located in Phuket, Thailand. Karon is one of the most popular beaches in Phuket. By being the longest beach on the island, Karon has been known for its surfing waves and white sand overlooking the Andaman Sea. Therefore, this project aims to design a destination for families and couples by creating enjoyable experiences during their stay.

Inspired by the sense of Thai tectonics, Thai houses are separate spaces that link together in the ‘chan’ area, the terrace of the house. Alongside the context of mountain village stacking housing in Phuket, the balcony design offers 4 types of leisures spaces from dining seats, hanging legs, sunset dining, to sunbath beds.

With the challenging topography of the site, this project has to design 300 keys hotel on a 7 meters slopes. The arrangement of the unit mostly facing the seaside on Karon beach, providing dynamic visual perceptions. One of the main concerns of this project is to create a relaxation destination for people who stayed in the hotel. The idea of a continuous facilities zone has been representing throughout the design. The facilities areas provide activities for people of all ages, under the concept of giving tropical sense to visitors.
